Alexis Sanchez has been reflecting on a brilliant first season with Arsenal and talking about how the Premier League differs from every other league in the world.

Alexis is one of those rare players that comes over from La Liga and instantly hits the ground running in the Premier League. He didn’t need a season or two to bed in, he just starting banging in the goals from the get-go, twisting up players and looking every inch the player we’d anticipated we needed.

After transferring from Barcelona, where he’d spent three years, it’s understandable that although he took to the fast-paced, physical league like a duck to water, it was still a huge change for him.

Speaking recently, the Chilean said, “Here in the Premier League you can get beaten 3-0 by a team near the bottom of the table.

“That’s not an unusual thing in English football and is also why any prediction ahead of matches can be very deceptive. Regardless of how good or bad the team you play against is, you can feel that there’s a huge crowd and pressure everywhere you go.

“I really like that.”

The forward could have been referring to the title champions Chelsea getting demolishing on Monday 3-0 by West Bromich Albion, who we face this weekend in our final match.

He continued, “Every team is really strong. For instance, you cannot take for granted any in-game score in this league.

“Any team can score goals in the last minutes of the game and I like that.”
