Olivier Giroud has made the five-man shortlist for player of the month for March after his impressive displays.

Unsurprisingly, the media darling that is Harry Kane, is also included and no doubt, unless the Arsenal fans somehow manage to work their poll-rigging magic, the Tottenham man will probably win it because just about everything he goes near works for him.

Never have I seen a player blessed with such luck in front of goal while being such a poor player in other areas of his game.

Giroud, on the other hand, is an integral part of the Arsenal team for more than just his goal scoring exploits.

With six goals in six games as well as one assist, Giroud’s record for the month is better than Kane’s who only hass the five goals (he actually only has four as on from his weekend hattrick should be taken off him as it was going wide before a massive deflection).

Still, despite Giroud clearly deserving the award, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if it went to the Tottenham man.

Eden Hazard aside, I’ll leave you to laugh at the rest of the five-man shortlist:

  • Harry Kane
  • Eden Hazard
  • Jordan Henderson
  • Oliver Giroud
  • Marouane Fellaini
