With the departure of Lukas Podolski to Inter Milan, Arsenal are gearing up to send another forward out on loan.

Arsene Wenger is keen to let Yaya Sanogo go so the Frenchman can earn some valuable first-team playing experience and while the Arsenal manager is hopeful of getting him placed within a Premier League team, Bordeaux are currently leading the chase for his signature.

Speaking to the media in France, Bordeaux’s boss, Willy Sagnol said of the move

We hope this is on track.

Bordeaux are keen to sign Sanogo on loan to cover for the loss of Cheikh Diabate who will be sidelined for four months after undergoing a knee operation.

Sanogo had been linked with a move to Crystal Palace but their managerial turmoil has thrown that move in to doubt.

What is clear, however, is that it’s just a case of where Sanogo ends up rather than if he leaves.

Quite what that means for Arsenal, who will see their already-thin squad weakened ever further, remains to be seen.
