Alex Iwobi’s father has revealed to the media his son should be back from illness before Arsenal’s match against Newcastle United, despite missing the international break with Nigeria.

One of the many supporters experiencing the emotional rollercoaster of Arsenal’s opening league game on Friday was Alex Iwobi’s father.

Chuka Iwobi told reporters that he hopes his son, Alex, has started out on a long journey with Nigeria after making his competitive debut for the side against Egypt on Friday.
