Alex James played for Arsenal Football Club. The former Scottish midfielder joined Arsenal from Preston North End in 1929 for £8,750. He retired as an Arsenal player in 1937. In total, he made 261 appearances for Arsenal and scored 27 goals. James was born on September 14, 1901 and died on June 1, 1953 at the age of 51.
