Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic believes Arsenal are the best in the Premier League right now, and up there with the very best in Europe.

Hull City manager Sergej Jakirovic was asked this week whether playing against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium was the hardest game to play in the Premier League as it stands.
“Yeah,” Jakirovic confirmed. “I think currently they are playing maybe the best football, together with Paris Saint-Germain. They are playing very good.
“I think they are right now, [along with] Manchester City, they are a different force in this league.”

Arsenal weren’t necessarily at their very best against Jakirovic’s side, but the Gunners still won the match 1-0, despite being unfairly denied a first-half penalty.
Jakirovic repeated his claims after Hull’s defeat, calling Arsenal “the best right now”, praising the Gunners quality, and adding that the hosts were “quicker” and “stronger in duels”.
Not everything has gone the way of Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season, but the team have nonetheless equalled their club record for the most points after 10 Premier League games (27 points), matching the 2022/23 season.
No Premier League team has ever won all 10 of their opening 10 games, though a few teams have gone one better than Arsenal by winning nine and drawing one.

Of course, Arsenal didn’t win the league in the 2022/23 season, so the team won’t need reminding that having a strong opening doesn’t mean much if it all falls apart later on.
But right now, it seems the Gunners are the team to beat in the Premier League this year.
