England boss Thomas Tuchel has praised Ben White as one of Arsenal’s standout players, after including the right-back in his latest squad.

On Friday morning, England confirmed Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the upcoming November international break, with the notable inclusion of Ben White.
White has only been involved in one England squad since 2022, joining the team over the March break earlier this year. He then dropped out of the squad over the summer and in September-October due to injury issues.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Tuchel explained why he’s decided to immediately recall White to his squad now that he’s fit.

“When I speak to him I always feel the hunger to come back and the excitement,” Tuchel said. “He missed the last camp, he’s a standout player for Arsenal in a position where we struggle with injuries, somehow, and we have a lot of changes.
“Now Trevoh Chalobah is not in camp, that makes Jarell Quansah half a full-back and half a centre-back in camp, and gives Ben the opportunity to impose himself again.
“Every time I watch Arsenal, I see a very strong Ben White in this position, and that’s why I think he deserves to open a new chapter.”

The other four Arsenal players to be called up for the November break are Ezri Konsa, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Declan Rice, and Eberechi Eze, which means Noni Madueke misses out.
Bukayo Saka’s is obviously also absent from Tuchel’s squad, with no real expectation that he’ll be back in action before December.
England will play a couple of Nations League fixtures over the break, looking to progress to the knockout stages. Tuchel’s side face Croatia at home on Thursday, November 12th, then Spain away on Sunday, November 15th.
