Arsenal have opened discussions over Martin Odegaard’s future, with the captain’s contract situation beginning to attract attention from elsewhere in Europe.

Bayern Munich are reportedly keeping an eye on Martin Odegaard’s contract situation as Arsenal look to tie their captain down to a new deal.
According to a report attributed to Sky Germany, Odegaard’s current contract runs until 2028 and Arsenal have already held initial informal discussions about extending it.
Bayern are said to have admired Odegaard for several seasons and maintained contact with his representatives.
Other leading European clubs have also reportedly asked about his situation, although none are named.
It’s important to not that none of this means a move is on the cards in the near future.

Arsenal want to keep Odegaard, and getting a new deal agreed is likely to be relatively straightforward, especially given the captain’s form this season.
The Norway international first joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid in January 2021 before making the move permanent that August.
He was made captain in July 2022 and has remained an integral part of Mikel Arteta’s side.
Odegaard has four goals, and one assist, in 14 appearances this season, including winners against Chelsea in the Premier League and Napoli in the Champions League.
