Mikel Arteta has provided injury updates on Ezri Konsa and Bukayo Saka, ahead of Arsenal’s match against Hull City on Saturday.

There was some concern about Ezri Konsa’s fitness following Arsenal’s match away to Slavia Praha in midweek, as the centre-back was withdrawn early and Mikel Arteta admitted the change was related to an injury issue.
But Konsa has since been spotted in training, he’s been called up for the upcoming international break, and Arteta confirmed on Friday that the defender is feeling better already.
“Yeah, he’s fine,” Arteta said. “He was feeling much better today. We took him out for precaution and for the amount of minutes that he was playing, but yesterday and today he’s feeling good.”

One player who won’t be involved against Hull on Saturday is Bukayo Saka, and Arteta appeared keen to play down expectations in relation to how quickly the winger might be back on the pitch.
“No, we talk about weeks,” Arteta said. “Let’s see after international break, he’s going to start hitting the pitch and start to have more activities, how he feels. But, unfortunately, he’s going to be out for a while.
“I don’t want to push these guys into too much pressure. They are doing their best to get him fit. Bukayo is desperate to get back with the team, but it’s still quite early.”

Arsenal’s injury list is encouragingly short at the moment, with Saka the only player guaranteed to miss Saturday’s match with a fitness issue.
Max Dowman will also be absent through suspension, serving the second match of his three-game ban, but everyone else is expected to be fit and available.
