Real Madrid are still monitoring Martin Zubimendi as they prepare to strengthen their midfield next summer.

Real Madrid are continuing to monitor Martin Zubimendi as they look for a midfielder capable of bringing greater control to their side ahead of the summer of 2027.
Sport in Spain reports that the Spanish club have already begun examining the international market, with Zubimendi once again among the options they like as they consider how to reshape their midfield.
Madrid are looking for an organising presence following the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
The combination of Aurelien Tchouameni and Fede Valverde has reportedly not convinced sufficiently, and the club believe they need somebody capable of connecting their midfield and helping them control possession.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are working seriously towards signing a top-level midfielder in the summer of 2027, with the position regarded as a priority.

Madrid previously made an unsuccessful attempt for Rodri, but that did not lead to another move at the time.
Sport identifies Zubimendi as one of the leading names under consideration.
The report claims Madrid are intrigued by the possibility of a future move and regard Zubimendi as one of the best players in the world in his position.
It also presents him as somebody capable of taking greater responsibility in midfield and potentially succeeding Rodri for Spain.
Scott McTominay is another player attracting Madrid’s attention.
His renewal with Napoli is described as stalled, with Madrid probing the possibility of reaching a verbal agreement with his representatives over a free transfer.
