Arsenal’s Viktor Gyokeres capped off an excellent international break with his fourth goal in four games, netting another winner for Sweden on Monday night.

Arsenal internationals have had a relatively mixed break, with some big positives balanced by some disappointing injury setbacks, but Viktor Gyokeres can definitely count his form with Sweden among the upsides.
The Arsenal striker hadn’t scored for his club before going off on international duty, but he netted his fourth goal in four games against Romania on Monday night.

The goal itself was a relatively simple one. After a cross went beyond Gyokeres to the far side of the penalty area, his teammate’s shot rebounded off the post and into the middle of the six-yard box. Gyokeres pounced and turned home a tap-in.
Even so, it was another case of being in the right place at the right time, as Gyokeres alluded to after the 1-0 victory.
“It feels good. It feels like you get good chances and then the goals come,” Gyokeres told the media.

Gyokeres had also scored the winner against Romania in the reverse fixture at the start of the break, as well as scoring in a 3-1 win over Poland and a 1-1 draw with Bosnia & Herzegovina.
As a result, Sweden sit top of their group and on course for promotion to League A. Gyokeres has also earned himself the accolade of being the first player ever to score in seven consecutive Nations League matches, given his goals against Estonia, Slovakia, and Azerbaijan in 2024.
Sweden were playing in League C then, but they’re quickly rising up the ranks with the help of the Arsenal striker.
