Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend with a match away to Nottingham Forest on Sunday, and Forest boss Oliver Glasner will be facing the Gunners for the first time in charge of his new club.

It hasn’t been too long since Glasner has managed a team against Arsenal though, as he was in charge of Crystal Palace for the final Premier League match of last season, watching Mikel Arteta’s side lift the trophy at the end of the game.

Glasner has evidently watched Arsenal in action a few more times since then, and he had plenty of praise for the Gunners in his pre-match press conference.

“In every game this season they were outrunning the opposition,” Glasner pointed out. “It’s incredible. The effort and the mindset Mikel [Arteta] has created there is incredible.

“This makes it so tough to play against them and you see it from every single player. They have so many world-class players they can react from the bench.”

Arsenal have indeed largely been very impressive this season, winning all but one of their games in all competitions. But that one defeat really brought everyone back to earth, with the Gunners falling apart in a 3-0 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion.

The team would be foolish to take anything for granted against Forest this weekend, despite Glasner’s praise. Arsenal have had a poor recent record at the City Ground, and they won’t be given any gifts on Sunday.
