Bruno Guimaraes has admitted he’s shocked he didn’t score against Bayern Munich in midweek, adding that he told Manuel Neuer as much after the game.

With Wednesday’s Arsenal game away to Bayern Munich level at 1-1 going into the second half, the result very much could have gone either way.
Just a couple of minutes after the break, Bruno Guimaraes thought he’d given the Gunners the lead with a powerful header from a Declan Rice corner.
The midfielder powered the header down towards the ground, and Manuel Neuer only managed to get a hand to it as it was already crossing the line. The ball rebounded up into the air, and the German goalkeeper was a little fortunate to see it spinning out off the crossbar rather than in.

“I still can’t believe it was not a goal,” Bruno told Sky Sports afterwards. “An unbelievable save. When I had the ball I was already celebrating because I thought it was in, and he made an unbelievable save.
“For me, [Manuel Neuer is] one of the best keepers in the world. He’s a legend in the game.
“When I finished the game, I came to him and said ‘how did you save this?’ He said ‘I don’t know as well’. Yeah, top save.”
Bayern almost punished Arsenal immediately, but David Raya made a top save of his own to deny Dayot Upamecano at the other end.
Though the hosts did eventually take the lead from the penalty spot, Arsenal scored a late equaliser to take a well-deserved point.
