On Friday afternoon, Arsenal sent emails to fans warning them that the Arsenal underground station may be closed on Saturday, advising supporters to use alternative routes and to arrive earlier than usual for the 12:30pm game against Leeds United.

MyLondon reported that the station was forced to close over concerns that it was ‘sinking’, with infrastructure damage within the station forcing the closure on Wednesday.

The expectation at the time was that the station would remain closed throughout the weekend and into next week, potentially affecting fans ahead of both the Leeds game and the Lille match on Tuesday.

Yet those fears seem to have been averted, with confirmation that the tube station has been reopened, just hours before the Leeds game.

Fans attending the game should nonetheless keep an eye out, in case the situation changes as the day goes on. If it’s reasonable to attend via other stations like Highbury and Islington or Finsbury Park, that may be the better option.

After three weeks with no matchday traffic, fans are set to descend on the Emirates three times this month, with two games in the next few days, and then another against Everton in a couple of weeks’ time.

But aside from those three home games, the rest of Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures are away from home. The Gunners travel to Nottingham on October 18th, to Munich on October 21st, to Fleetwood on October 27th, to Liverpool on November 1st, and then to Prague on November 4th.
