Arsenal have confirmed that Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract after leading the club to the Premier League title and a Champions League final last season.

Arsenal have confirmed that Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract, extending his stay after leading the club to the Premier League title in May.
With his contract due to expire at the end of the season, it is believed that this new deal runs until 2030.
Arteta became only the eighth Arsenal manager to win a league title when he lifted the trophy in May, adding another major achievement to a tenure that has also included an FA Cup, a Champions League final and four successive top-two finishes in the Premier League. He is also the youngest to win the Premier League.
Not bad for a man in his first managerial position.
Those achievements have already placed him among the most successful managers in the club’s history, and Arsenal have now, as expected, tied him to the club for the foreseeable future.
Upon the announcement, Arteta said: “It’s a privilege to commit my future to the club and to continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal. This club is unique, its character and the way it makes you feel, and I have a great sense of privilege that our journey together will continue.

“We have already built a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime, and what is so exciting is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together. I’m extremely grateful to Stan and Josh for their trust and support, and feel honoured to be leading this club through such a special period in its 140-year history.
“This is such a proud moment for me and my family. I feel the love and respect from our fantastic supporters, and they have mine – and ours – in return.”
Arteta also boasts a record of 220 wins from 361 matches, which is a 60.9% win rate, the highest of any Arsenal manager with at least 50 games, ahead of Arsene Wenger’s 57.2%.
Only four Premier League managers have reached 150 wins quicker than the Arsenal boss, and none have been younger.
Arsenal have also been working to secure the futures of Arteta’s staff during the international break.
Daily Cannon understands that Andrea Berta has been leading negotiations with set-piece coach Nicolas Jover over a new contract, with the club keen to extend the deals of all Arteta’s assistants.
