Arsenal are set to cash in on another sell-on clause, with Brooke Norton-Cuffy to sign for Hull City on transfer deadline day.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Hull City have agreed a deal with Genoa to sign former Arsenal academy player Brooke Norton-Cuffy, with the promoted Premier League side to pay €14m (£12m) for the transfer.
Some of that money will be heading Arsenal’s way, as the Gunners had a 20% sell-on clause in Norton-Cuffy’s deal with Genoa. Arsenal should be set to receive around £2.4m from the move.

Arsenal had looked set to cash in on Norton-Cuffy’s sell-on clause on a couple of occasions in recent transfer windows, with the likes of Inter Milan showing interest. Everton were also linked with a move at one stage.
But nothing came of those reports in January, with Norton-Cuffy opting to stay with Genoa.
Arsenal have already received an initial €2m for Norton-Cuffy’s sale to Genoa in 2024, plus another €2m in potential add-ons. Given Norton-Cuffy’s consistent appearances and Genoa’s survival in Serie A last season, it’s likely at least some of those add-ons have been activated.

Norton-Cuffy was a regular for Genoa in 2025/26, appearing in 27 Serie A matches and another two Italian cup fixtures. The defender was only benched twice, with the remainder of his 10 absences occurring due to injury or (on one occasion) suspension.
Four and a half years after his debut in League One with loan club Lincoln City, Norton-Cuffy now finally looks set to play in the English top flight.
