Elisa De Almeida has joined Arsenal from Paris Saint-Germain.
The 28-year-old France international arrives after five seasons with PSG, where she made 154 appearances and scored three goals.
Primarily a centre-back, De Almeida can also operate at right-back, adding flexibility across Arsenal’s defence.
The clubs have not disclosed the transfer fee, but reports in France have suggested a figure of about £550,000.
On the announcement of her signing, De Almeida said: “I’m so excited to join Arsenal.
“I think it’s a goal in my career. It’s a very big club and I can’t wait to meet the team tomorrow.
“Everything went very quickly for me. It’s an honour to be here today.
“It’s a big club. When I was younger, I used to watch a lot of French players play. Thierry Henry, Samir Nasri and coach Arsene Wenger. It was obvious for me to join Arsenal.
“I spoke to Renée before coming here. She told me what she was expecting of me and what position I was in. I’m here to help the team and I can’t wait to get started.
“I’d say I’m a solid defender, determined in the duels and have a good vision of the game.”
De Almeida began her senior career with Paris FC before moving to Montpellier and then joining PSG in 2021.
She won the Coupe de France in her first season with the club and lifted the trophy again in 2023–24.
At international level, she has won 52 senior caps for France (with five goals) and was selected for the country’s squads at the 2023 World Cup and Euro 2025.
