Arsenal have officially confirmed that Omar Shaikh has been appointed as Chief Revenue Officer for the club, a new position that will seemingly see him take on Juliet Slot’s responsibilities.
Arsenal confirmed on LinkedIn that Omar Shaikh has been appointed as the club’s first-ever Chief Revenue Officer, with Shaikh joining the executive team and taking on an expanded remit across the club’s revenue-generating functions.
Arsenal add that Shaikh’s role will include partnerships, ventures, commercial venue and retail operations, suggesting he’s taking over many of the responsibilities of the current club Chief Commercial Officer.
Juliet Slot has held that role for the last five years, but recent reports revealed that she’ll soon step down. Rather than replacing her directly, it looks like Arsenal are promoting Shaikh to take over her duties.
Shaikh had previously worked as Vice President of Commercial Development at Liverpool, before joining Arsenal as a Partnership Sales Director in 2023.
At the time, his remit was the court new business ventures and renew ties with existing ones to augment the club’s commercial growth.
Following his promotion this week, Arsenal reported that Shaikh will “help drive revenue growth that supports our ambition to win major trophies” adding that the appointment “reflects Omar’s leadership, expertise and contribution to Arsenal’s progress”.
Arsenal made strong progress during Slot’s tenure, both on and off the pitch.
The club went from finishing outside the Champions League places and trophyless in Slot’s first season, to returning to Europe’s top competition, finishing second in the Premier League in three consecutive campaigns, and then finally taking that last step to win it in 2025/26.
That success was supported by strong work behind the scenes, with Arsenal securing major sponsorship deals and spending well to put together a squad capable of going the distance.
Shaikh has been part of that success over the last three years, but he’ll have a greater responsibility to keep things moving in the right direction now.
