Arsenal youth player Travis Chilard-Martin is at the centre of a battle between England and France, with both national teams calling him up to their u16 squads.

There was good news for the Arsenal academy on Friday morning, as England confirmed three call-ups for their u16 squad later this month.
Arsenal’s Jaden Maghoma, Luis Munoz, and Travis Chilard-Martin have all been selected for the squad, but Chilard-Martin’s involvement is perhaps the most intriguing, as he’s also been called up by France.

France officially confirmed Chilard-Martin on their u16 squad list earlier this week, including the 14-year-old defender as the only member of the entire squad not playing for a French club.
Chilard-Martin is eligible to represent both teams, and there’s no reason why he can’t take up both call-ups.
The France camp takes place between August 16th and 20th, with games against Red Star u17s and Montrouge u17s on August 19th and 20th respectively.
The England camp is the following week, with a double-header of friendlies against Italy on August 25th and 27th.

Unlike with the senior teams, you don’t commit yourself to one country or another by playing for their u16 side in a couple of friendly matches.
So Chilard-Martin is free to represent both France and England and then make a final decision on his international allegiance later.
