RB Leipzig have joined the race for Ethan Nwaneri this summer, showing an interest in the Arsenal teenager.

Simon Collings reports for The S*n that as well as Borussia Dortmund’s known interest in Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri, RB Leipzig are also paying close attention to the player’s situation.
Leipzig have Nwaneri on their long list of targets for the summer window, though Collings adds that Arsenal are yet to decide whether to cash in on Nwaneri this summer.
Nwaneri could see his minutes limited by another experienced midfield addition in Bruno Guimaraes, and his sale would significantly boost Arsenal’s finances. But another loan move hasn’t been ruled out, and Nwaneri is currently with Mikel Arteta’s squad for pre-season.

Nwaneri spent the second half of last season on loan with Marseille, with the hope that he’d follow in the footsteps of William Saliba by impressing in France before returning to become an Arsenal starter.
But things didn’t go the same way for Nwaneri, who made 11 appearances and just four starts across 18 available fixtures.
Speaking to the media after Arsenal’s friendly match against Girona, Arteta admitted that they’d hoped for more, but added that Nwaneri still seems to have benefitted from the experience.
“On the pitch it didn’t (go as expected) because a lot happened in Marseille but when you stand in front of him, you sense the maturity,” Arteta said. “He looks like a different man.
“The experience on paper wasn’t ideal, but I think he went through something that is going to help him a lot in his career.”

With no reports of bids on the table for the Arsenal midfielder, the club don’t currently have a decision to make on his future. But it looks as though there could be offers from the Bundesliga as the final month of the transfer window progresses.
On Leipzig specifically, the sale of Yan Diomande to Real Madrid certainly gives them the funds and the need for attacking additions.
