Premier League clubs interested in Arsenal midfielder loan

Ethan Nwaneri is drawing interest from both the Premier League and abroad, as Arsenal considering loan offers for the player before next week’s transfer deadline.

James McNicholas reports for The Athletic that Ethan Nwaneri could leave Arsenal on loan before next Tuesday’s transfer deadline, with the Gunners currently considering offers.

McNicholas writes that there’s interest in Nwaneri from the Premier League and abroad, and assuming it is another loan, Arsenal will deliberate carefully over the midfielder’s destination to avoid a repeat of last season’s difficulties with Marseille.

Sami Mokbel reported for the BBC last week that Arsenal were prioritising loan offers over a permanent transfer for Nwaneri, with the Gunners accepting that the player will benefit from playing regular minutes.

Only an exceptional offer significantly above Arsenal’s valuation is likely to make a permanent transfer possible.

Mokbel wrote that AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, and Fulham have all shown an interest in Nwaneri. That interest was likely for a permanent deal, but perhaps Fulham could be a good option for a loan, allowing the teenager to remain in the Premier League.

Arsenal have never been open to a loan with an option to buy, but a straight loan is evidently now their preferred outcome.

Nwaneri was left out of the Community Shield squad to face Manchester City, though he subsequently returned to the bench for the following game against Coventry City.
