Cameras on the pitch caught a couple of exchanges involving Arsenal’s new signing Bruno Guimaraes on Sunday, including a joke from club and international teammate Gabriel Magalhaes.

Following Arsenal’s Community Shield win over Manchester City at the weekend, the team were in good spirits.

Bruno Guimaraes was making his debut start for the team, having only played 45 minutes as a substitute in pre-season, and he seemed pleased with his winner’s medal after the impressive 3-0 victory.

“Nice one, eh?” Guimaraes said, showing off his medal to the cameras. “Let’s [go] for more!”

Fellow Brazil international Gabriel Magalhaes was enjoying joking around with his new club teammate after the game, shouting “best friends now, eh?” at Guimaraes and Declan Rice.

The two were taking a photo together with the Community Shield and their winner’s medals, and Gabriel was making a clear reference to one of Bruno’s previous interviews with Arsenal.

“Rice sent me a message [saying] ‘come here, and please no more fights, now we’re friends’,” Bruno revealed. “I was happy he messaged me.”

Gabriel was also caught on camera in another moment, imitating Bruno’s trademark ‘cupping the ears’ celebration and encouraging him to do it.

The defender is clearly making sure to integrate his international teammate with the squad at his new club, which should be a good thing for everyone going into the new Premier League campaign.
