The Aston Villa defender has worn several numbers during his career, but one vacant Arsenal shirt stands out as the most likely choice.

Ezri Konsa looks set to become Arsenal’s latest summer signing, but one small detail will remain unresolved until the move is officially completed, what shirt number the England defender will wear in north London?
Arsenal and Aston Villa have agreed a deal worth £51 million plus add-ons for Konsa, who is expected to complete his medical on Thursday before signing a long-term contract.
However, he seems unlikely to be registered in time to feature when Arsenal begin the defence of their Premier League title against Coventry City on Friday night.
While several numbers have featured during Konsa’s career, one vacant Arsenal shirt appears the most natural fit.

For most of his time at Aston Villa, Konsa wore the number four shirt. After arriving wearing number 15 for his first season, he switched to number four and kept it for the next seven seasons at Villa Park.
That option is unavailable at Arsenal, with Ben White the current holder of the number four shirt.
Across the rest of his career, Konsa also wore number 38 for one season during his time at Charlton Athletic and number 26 during his year at Brentford.
The number 15, however, has been a recurring choice.
As mentioned, he wore it during his first season at Aston Villa – and for his final two campaigns at Charlton.
That shirt is currently available at Arsenal following Jakub Kiwior‘s departure, making it the most obvious option if Konsa wishes to continue with a familiar number after completing his move.
