Everton are in talks with AS Monaco over the signing of Folarin Balogun, with Arsenal in line to profit from a sell-on clause in the striker’s contract.

On Sunday, Sacha Tavolieri broke the news that Folarin Balogun wants to join Everton FC, adding that the Merseyside club had submitted an offer to Balogun’s current side AS Monaco.
Tavolieri added that Balogun already has an agreement on personal terms with Everton, so it’s just a matter of the two clubs finalising a fee.
At first, Tavolieri was claiming Everton were making an offer of just €18m (£15.4m), but he has since suggested a deal would actually exceed €40m (£34.3m), plus add-ons.
Tavolieri adds that Monaco have acknowledged Balogun’s desire to make the move and are negotiating a deal.

Despite Tavolieri’s somewhat unbelievable claims about the fee being negotiated from €18m to €40m+ in less than 24 hours, the bulk of the story appears to be true.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Everton have indeed sent an official bid to Monaco, with talks ongoing as Everton look to replace the outgoing Beto – on his way to Fiorentina.
Sky Sports News confirm that Everton are ready to step up their interest in Balogun if Beto completes that move to Italy.

Arsenal will be keeping a close eye on proceedings, with the Gunners in line to cash in if Balogun completes a transfer back to England. David Ornstein confirmed for The Athletic earlier this summer that Arsenal hold a 17.5% sell-on clause for the Monaco striker.
If Balogun does move for over €40m, that could mean a decent chunk of cash heading to north London as part of the deal.
