Arsenal loanee Charles Sagoe Jr. provided another goal contribution with Kalmar FF over the weekend, amid interest in a permanent transfer from AIK Fotboll.

Arsenal loanee Charles Sagoe Jr. is in excellent form with Swedish first-tier club Kalmar FF, and he showed it again on Monday by providing an assist in a 2-2 draw with Malmo FF.
Picking up the ball only a little over the halfway line, Sagoe Jr. carried the ball past a couple of defenders before laying off a pass for Carl Gustafsson to finish for 1-0.
The 21-year-old Arsenal loanee now has two goals and eight assists in his first 15 competitive games for Kalmar.

Swedish outlet Expressen reported last week that fellow Swedish club AIK are working hard to try and sign Sagoe Jr. this summer, with talks already underway over the potential transfer.
As mentioned, the player is on loan to Kalmar, and that deal lasts until the end of the calendar year. But AIK are pushing for the transfer anyway, with Expressen sources claiming it’s not impossible to get the winger out of his loan deal this summer.
Arsenal will likely be very receptive to AIK’s interest, given Sagoe Jr.’s deal with the Gunners expires in 2027. Selling now would probably be preferable to waiting until the end of his loan and the final six months of his contract.

Whether the AIK move goes through or not, this has been a remarkable turnaround for Sagoe Jr. in the last 12 months.
Last summer, the winger was coming off the back of a couple of underwhelming loan moves, and he was forced to reintegrate with the Arsenal u21s. But he got his head down and worked hard, scoring or assisting 12 goals in 14 u21 games in the first half of 2025/26.
That form saw him earn his current move to Sweden, and his positive performances on loan may now get him a new permanent deal.
