Daniel McCarron’s former club Dungannon Swifts have confirmed he’s officially completed his move to Arsenal, as part of the club’s 2026/27 scholarship intake.

Dungannon Swifts have posted on Instagram to confirm that Daniel McCarron has officially moved to Premier League champions Arsenal as part of the Gunners’ 2026/27 scholarship intake.
The club confirm that McCarron recently attended pre-season training with Dungannon Swifts to say his goodbyes, and the club add that they’re “incredibly proud of Daniel” and “[looking] forward to watching the next chapter of his journey at Arsenal FC unfold”.
Club general manager Simon Graham also recently shared his farewell to McCarron, saying: “Wishing Daniel McCarron the very best of luck as he moves on to continue his football journey with Arsenal. Enjoy every minute!”

Arsenal had announced McCarron’s pre-contract agreement earlier this year, but that agreement will now turn into an official contract.
McCarron is expected to join up with the rest of Arsenal’s scholarship intake this month ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The youngster previously spent time with the Arsenal academy as a trialist in December 2024, playing with the Arsenal u17s at the Flamengo Adidas Cup. The young Gunners ultimately lifted the trophy, with Callan Hamill also playing on trial at the tournament before joining Arsenal permanently.

McCarron made his debut for the Dungannon first team before leaving, coming on as a substitute in a Premiership play-off match against Larne FC. He also made the bench on a couple of occasions during the regular season.
Away from Dungannon, McCarron has played for the Northern Ireland u17s on eight occasions, most recently playing a couple of Euro qualifiers in March.
