Future Arsenal duo Edwin and Holger Quintero are continuing to make good progress with Independiente del Valle, earning further senior minutes for their current team.

Independiente del Valle twin brothers Edwin and Holger Quintero are committed to joining Arsenal when they turn 18 in August 2027, but for the time being they remain with IDV in Ecuador.
Earlier this month, we covered Edwin’s impressive debut appearance for the IDV senior side, in which the 16-year-old winger scored a very good goal.
Since then, the teenager has gone on to make another four substitute appearances, and he provided an assist for IDV against CS Emelec last week.
Coming on with IDV already 3-1 up and just 14 minutes remaining, Edwin took less than a minute to make his mark. Receiving the ball on the right with a fantastic first touch, the winger crossed into the centre of the penalty area for Aron Rodriguez to finish for 4-1.
Edwin then played Darwin Guagua in behind a couple of minutes later, with Guagua squaring for Juan Angulo to finish for 5-1. The match finished 6-1, and the recent debutant certainly made a positive impression.
Edwin’s brother Holger has also made his debut this month, coming on as a late substitute in IDV’s 3-0 win over SD Aucas.
The match was the only fixture the team have played this month that Edwin didn’t feature in, so the two are yet to share a pitch in senior football. It’s surely only a matter of time.
