Arsenal sign up and coming goalkeeper Isabella Damm

18-year-old goalkeeper Isabella Damm has joined Arsenal from Danish side Brondby IF having spent some time on trial last season.

Damm is an up and coming goalkeeper who has made her first-team debut for Brondby in 2025, and was under contract until 2027.

“I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal and I can’t wait to get started,” said Isabella.

“Arsenal is a great club and I’m excited to develop as a player and as a person here, and help the club achieve more success. I’ve had the experience of training here before and I know the environment here is the right one for me to progress.”

Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley said: “We’re really pleased to bring Isabella to the club. She’s a player we’ve been monitoring for some time and we believe she’s one of the best young goalkeepers in Europe in her age group. We’re looking forward to seeing her grow and develop within our goalkeeping set-up here at Arsenal.”

Head Coach Renée Slegers added: “Isabella is an exciting young goalkeeper with a strong foundation to build on. Her technical ability, composure and bravery are already clear, and she has a high ceiling for growth and progression. Along with our goalkeeping coaches and wider staff, we’ll support her development as she starts her journey here at Arsenal.”

Arsenal have obviously let go three goalkeepers at the beginning of the transfer window in Manuela Zinberger, Naomi Williams and Barbora Votikova, so it makes sense to sign a third goalkeeper.

With the Spanish press reporting that former Real Madrid Misa Rodriguez is also on her way, that would make four goalkeepers in the squad. That’s one too many, unless Damm is going spend the whole season playing for the u-21 Academy team, or is going to get loaned.

Damm will wear number 40 at Arsenal, which clearly indicates that she is one for the future and not expected to play first team games right now.
