Lionesses midfielder Georgia Stanway joins after four succesful seasons winning eight trophies in Bavaria and will bring a lot of experience and winning mentality to the Arsenal.

Stanway also spent seven season at Manchester City winning seven trophies including the WSL.
Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley, said: “We’re delighted to bring Georgia to Arsenal. Georgia is among the best midfielders in the world with a proven track record of success at club and international level. She brings strong leadership, character and competitiveness and I know our supporters will enjoy watching her play in red and white.”
Head Coach Renée Slegers said: “Georgia is a brilliant midfielder and we’re thrilled that she is an Arsenal player. She will add a new dimension to our midfield, bringing experience and adding to our winning mentality. We look forward to getting down to work in pre-season ahead of a big campaign ahead.”

“It’s an unbelievable feeling and I’m so proud to be joining Arsenal,” said Georgia. “This is a massive club that is driving the women’s game forward to new levels and I want to be a part of it. I want to win trophies and grow as a player, and this is the right place to do that with the backing of an incredible fanbase.”
It will be interesting to see what role she will play in the Arsenal double pivot and who will play alongside her. Obviously the coaching staff first choice last season was Little-Caldentey and we could see it change to Stanway-x with Caldentey moving higher up the pitch in the number 10 role.
In the double pivot, you can play a mix of profiles with either 6 or 8 or 10. The key is to find the right balance between the two players, so they do not go forwards at the same time leaving a big hole behind them. Will Kim Little or Kyra Cooney-Cross play alongside her or will it be another new signing?
Georgia Stanway will wear number 4 for Arsenal.
