Arsenal have made contact over a move for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, but Paris Saint-Germain continue to lead the race for the 19-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are one of the clubs to have made contact over a potential move for Yan Diomande, with Paris Saint-Germain still believed to be the leading club in the race.
Romano points out that it’s been weeks since Diomande reached an agreement with PSG on personal terms, yet the French club still haven’t agreed a fee with RB Leipzig.
As a result, it’s not impossible that Diomande could still end up going elsewhere, and Arsenal are evidently one of the clubs ready to pounce if PSG pull out.

Earlier in the summer, amid interest from Liverpool, David Ornstein reported that Diomande had chosen Paris Saint-Germain as his next destination, if he leaves RB Leipzig.
Diomande reportedly believes in PSG’s project and wants to play for Luis Enrique, and he sees the move as his best opportunity to compete for trophies and individual awards.
Liverpool had offered Leipzig a €100m package, but Leipzig wanted closer to €130m, and the player expressed his preference for PSG. It’s unclear whether Arsenal would be able to change his mind if fee negotiations continue to stall.

Diomande scored 13 goals and assisted another 10 in his 36 appearances for Leipzig last season, which was his first campaign with the German club.
The teenager then went to the World Cup with Cote d’Ivoire and assisted one goal in four games, before their elimination by Norway in the round-of-32.
One upside of that early exit is that Diomande will be returning from his holidays any day now, so he should be fully up to speed for Leipzig, PSG, Arsenal, or anyone else by the time their competitive campaigns get going.
