Fresh claims from Newcastle suggest the Gunners have eased off their interest, while the Magpies continue to insist the Brazil international is not for sale.

Arsenal have reportedly cooled their interest in Bruno Guimaraes, despite weeks of speculation linking the midfielder with a move from Newcastle United.
The latest claims come from The Journal, a newspaper covering Newcastle, which accuses Arsenal of “getting in the player’s head” before stepping back from the pursuit.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with Guimaraes throughout the summer, with reports suggesting the Brazil international has told Newcastle he wants to move to London.
Despite those reports, Arsenal have yet to make any offer for the midfielder.

Newcastle, as is their right, continue to demand a substantial fee for a player they have no intention of selling, particularly after already losing Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The club’s position has remained consistent throughout. Newcastle insist Guimaraes is not for sale and they have shown no sign of softening that stance.
With Arsenal yet to test Newcastle’s resolve with a formal bid, the transfer has reached a standstill.
Whether that changes later in the window remains to be seen, but for now the Gunners appear to have stepped back from a deal that once looked to be gathering momentum.
