A bigger Women’s Super League, Champions League commitments and landmark away venues will shape Arsenal’s season from September through to May.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures for the 2026-27 season have finally been released.
The schedule is always published later than many supporters would like because a number of clubs share stadiums with men’s teams. The league, therefore, has to wait until the fixture lists for the top five tiers of the men’s game have been finalised before confirming dates.
It should be a slightly less congested campaign for Arsenal than last season.
The club are not involved in the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup, avoiding a trip to Miami, while there is no Subway Players’ Cup either, as clubs competing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League are exempt on player welfare grounds.
The previous format, which awarded Champions League clubs a bye to the quarter-finals, provided a significant advantage. The fact that only Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City have ever won the competition suggests that format may not have helped competitive balance.
With none of those three clubs involved this season, a new name will be added to the trophy.
The Women’s Super League has, however, expanded to 14 teams, increasing the league programme from 22 to 26 matches.
That means four additional league fixtures have had to be accommodated within an already packed calendar, particularly with the FIFA Women’s World Cup beginning on 24 June, leaving no scope to extend the domestic season.
Only the opening four league fixtures have been given confirmed kick-off times, with television selections already made.
Every match after that remains subject to broadcast picks, which will be confirmed approximately four weeks before each fixture.
Sky Sports selections will generally be scheduled for:
- Friday, 7.00pm
- Saturday, 12.45pm
- Sunday, 12.00pm
- Sunday, 6.00pm
BBC One and BBC Two selections will generally be scheduled for:
- Saturday, 12.30pm
- Sunday, 2.30pm
Arsenal’s opening four fixtures are:
Matchday 1, Brighton & Hove Albion v Arsenal, Sunday 6 September, 12.00pm
Matchday 2, Arsenal v Crystal Palace, Sunday 13 September, 2.45pm
Matchday 3, Arsenal v Manchester United, Saturday 19 September, 5.30pm
Matchday 4, Chelsea v Arsenal, Sunday 27 September, 4.30pm
Here is the schedule in full (text table available below)

One notable feature of the fixture list is that Arsenal will play all 13 Women’s Super League home matches at the Emirates Stadium.
Away from home, the club will visit the Etihad Stadium and Old Trafford for the first time with the women’s team.
Chelsea will host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, while the north London derby will be played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
So, Arsenal are guaranteed at least 26 Women’s Super League matches, six Champions League fixtures and one Women’s FA Cup tie.
That gives the club a minimum of 33 competitive matches during the season, rising to a maximum of 42 should they reach both the Women’s FA Cup and Champions League finals.
