Arsenal’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola has hit another stumbling block, with the club setting a ridiculously high asking price for the winger.

David Ornstein reports for The Athletic that Paris Saint-Germain neither need nor want to sell Bradley Barcola this summer, amid reports of interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
PSG have already agreed a significant sale for Goncalo Ramos to join AC Milan, and the French champions believe Barcola is worth significantly more than the £116m Manchester City will pay for Elliot Anderson.
More than just having a high asking price, PSG consider Barcola ‘not for sale’, despite the winger’s reluctance to extend his contract.

Ornstein also reported over the weekend that Yan Diomande has chosen PSG as his next destination, if he leaves RB Leipzig this summer. That decision could push Liverpool towards Barcola, as they’d previously been set on signing Diomande themselves.
So the last few days have not been great for Arsenal’s pursuit of the winger.
They face significant competition from a Premier League rival, the asking price has been boosted to astronomical levels, and the selling club don’t even want to do business.

Following his 21 goals and 20 assists for PSG in 2024/25, Barcola had a much quieter campaign in 2025/26, scoring 13 and assisting six.
That’s partly because he played over 1,000 minutes less football this season, with a couple of very brief injury absences and a growing sense that Luis Enrique prefers other players in the big games.
Yet PSG still don’t want to sell the 23-year-old, and perhaps they believe they’ll get more for him after a better season than the last one.
