Arsenal’s initial offer to sign Jeremy Monga was £5m, and Leicester City have reduced their valuation in the hope of reaching a compromise.

Gary Jacob reports for The Times that Arsenal’s first bid for Leicester City’s Jeremy Monga was £5m and a 10% sell-on fee, and it was subsequently rejected by the League One side.
But the good news is that Leicester have reduced their initial £15m valuation, and they’re now asking for around £10m plus a 15% sell-on fee.
If a fee can’t be agreed, the two clubs may have to go to a transfer tribunal, but Arsenal would reportedly prefer to negotiate a settlement directly with Leicester.

David Ornstein reported for The Athletic earlier this week that Arsenal are in club-to-club talks with Leicester City over a deal, confirming that there’s no agreement yet but direct negotations are ongoing.
The 16-year-old had been targeted by multiple clubs including Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Chelsea, but Ornstein reports that he only wanted Arsenal.
As a result, the clubs are attempting to agree a fee that suits both sides.

Monga made 10 starts for Leicester in all competitions in 2025/26, scoring one goal and assisting two more. He’s also an England u19 international, making 10 appearances for the side this season and playing alongside Max Dowman on a couple of occasions.
The youngster has already made his Premier League debut, making seven appearances in Leicester’s last season in the top flight in 2024/25, when he was just 15.
