Arsenal are monitoring Marcus Rashford’s situation at Manchester United and were also recently interested in Kobbie Mainoo, according to a report.

Chris Wheeler and Nathan Salt report for the Daily Mail that Arsenal and Bayern Munich are understood to be monitoring Marcus Rashford’s situation, with the Manchester United player currently on loan with FC Barcelona.
Barcelona have an option to buy in Rashford’s contract, but they’re keen to either negotiate the £26m price down or take the player on loan for another year.
Yet even if Barcelona don’t take up their option, Rashford is reportedly unlikely to have a future at Manchester United, so that could create an opening for other clubs to pounce.

Rashford has largely played on the left wing for Barcelona this season, though he’s also capable of playing at centre-forward or on the right.
Arsenal certainly appear to be in the market for a left-sided attacker, and Rashford’s 13 goals and 14 assists in just 2,378 minutes this season (one every 88 minutes) must make him a candidate.
In other news, the same report suggests that Arsenal were at the front of a queue of Premier League clubs waiting to see how Kobbie Mainoo’s situation played out, during the midfielder’s struggles under Ruben Amorim.
A Napoli loan was reportedly the one other strong option for the midfielder at the time. But in the end, Amorim left, Mainoo got back into the United team, and he’s now signed a new contract to stay at the club.

Arsenal have their own star academy midfielder in the team at the moment, with Myles Lewis-Skelly getting a run in the position over the last week. But perhaps the Rashford rumours could start to build if he ends up missing out on another move to Barcelona this summer.
