Whether Arsenal land the Premier League title or not in the coming weeks, there will no doubt be some movement in the summer. Mikel Arteta will either be looking to improve while he’s ahead, like all the great teams, or be looking at what he can do to move up that extra level with a few top signings, whether it be to secure Premier League or Champions League honours.
The summer window is going to be a big one for Arsenal transfers, and while that may not be in volume, it could be in personnel. According to the latest Arsenal transfer news, the likes of Julian Alvarez, Morgan Rogers and Michael Olise have all been rumoured with moves to the Emirates, but what about the players heading out?
It’s unlikely we’ll see anything until after the World Cup, with plenty of business happening based on performances there. Kate Richardson, a betting expert at MightyTips, has had her thoughts on who the Gunners could let go in order to strengthen the cavalry.
MightyTips, which will be providing plenty of betting tips for World Cup, has highlighted the bookies fancy Norway to do well across the tournament, and that’s where Richardson is suggesting we should look with their star man among those potentially out of the door.
Arsenal Stars Who May Leave in the Transfer Window
Gabriel Jesus
The Gunners are going to have to sell some star players if they want a blockbuster summer in the transfer market and both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have been mooted as potential offloads.
Jesus would perhaps be the most likely, with it believed Arteta would be happy to accept €40million for the striker who has bagged 31 in 119 appearances since arriving from Manchester City. It may be that they try to cash in on both, with the German likely to attract a higher price tag, which would pave the way for a blowout on a top striker, something many of the Arsenal faithful have been craving.
Gabriel Martinelli
It’s believed the Gunners are contemplating selling Gabriel Martinelli to fund a left sided forward this summer, despite the Brazilian being desperate to stay at the club. He enters the final year of his contract next term, so they may look to reluctantly cash in on him.
A number of Premier League clubs, and teams across Europe, are ready to pounce if he does become available in the summer transfer window, but it’s unlikely he’ll move if Arteta doesn’t have anything else lined up.
He continues to be an important player for Arsenal, even providing a match-winning assist against Sporting just days ago, so it’s going to be an interesting one to see how this plays out. There will certainly be plenty of transfer talk over the coming months.
Ben White

Ben White has struggled to get gametime this season and after a couple of big mistakes, it’s likely Arteta will listen to offers. Everton seem to be leading that race, and with right back an issue for them, it could be a good deal for both parties.
The 28-year-old sits firmly behind Jurrien Timber in the pecking order and if he does want more minutes, and a spot in the England team moving forward, playing away from the Emirates seems his best chance.
The relationship between Arteta and David Moyes could help get that deal over the line, and release much needed funds to strengthen the team.
Myles Lewis-Skelly & Ethan Nwaneri
Academy graduates have been used by many clubs to help balance the books and it could be an option for Arteta. Myles Lewis-Skelly set the world alight last year when he burst onto the scene, but he’s struggled for gametime this term, with Arteta recently stating: “Every season is different. He had very good moments in this season. He had other moments when he hadn’t played in that much.
Sometimes, as well, the good form of your team-mates. There’s a lot of factors that contribute to that.”
Manchester United and Everton are the most interested at present and while the former would be a shock move, it is a realistic option for the young left back. Ethan Nwaneri is another who could suffer the same fate. He’s not had the best time at Marseille with the boss at the French club recently saying: “He is a big talent who needs to adapt to the intensity of Ligue 1. He looks like the ideal replacement for Mason but we have several quality players to choose from. He must understand he’s come to a very, very high-level club.”
That suggests he might not get a permanent move there, but he does have options and, like Lewis-Skelly, is a promising player who would fit into most clubs, again freeing up the budget for Arteta.
Why Should Arsenal Sell This Summer Transfer Window?
The Gunners are in a tricky position when it comes to Financial Fair Play and they do need to offload some players if they are going to bring in the sort of personnel that will win trophies and keep Arsenal performing at the highest level.
While Arteta, and indeed the fans, will be reluctant to let go any of the players mentioned above, there are rumours and gossip around them and if they can generate enough funds it could lead to strengthening – and that would be fully welcome as Mikel’s project continues to advance at a good pace.
