Sky Sports News report that Bayern Munich want to sign a left-winger this summer, and Anthony Gordon is high on their shortlist of potential targets.

Sky add that Gordon has also attracted interest from Arsenal, but Bayern have evidently joined the Gunners in their pursuit ahead of the summer window.

Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri had also reported on Bayern’s interest recently, claiming they’d already made contact with Gordon’s representatives.

Though he adds that Newcastle United were initially reluctant to consider a sale, they’ve now opened the door, and new talks will soon take place between Bayern and Gordon’s camp.

As for Arsenal, Sami Mokbel of the BBC reported just last week that Gordon is “rated highly” by the club, and that the Gunners have identified a new left-winger as a priority this summer.

Mokbel’s report added that if Newcastle United fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League, they’ll need to sell at least one, and potentially two of their star players.

After defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend, Newcastle are 14th and a full 10 points off the top five, with no cup or European football to give themselves a chance of qualifying through those routes.

Arsenal will be looking to further damage Newcastle’s chances with a win over the north-east side on April 25th, but it’s already looking like an impossible task with just six games remaining.
