It has been quite a while since Arsenal lifted this specific domestic trophy. Their last victory in the competition was in April 1993, when they defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 in the final at the old Wembley stadium. Interestingly, match-winner Steve Morrow was famously dropped by captain Tony Adams during the post-match celebrations and broke his arm, meaning he had to receive his winner’s medal in a hospital gown!
