Arsenal have set a new record for the most corner goals in a single Premier League season, following Eberechi Eze’s effort against Newcastle United on Saturday.

The Arsenal fans at the Emirates Stadium were clearly a little unhappy when the team opted to play three short corners in the opening minutes of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United.
The team have successfully converted plenty of crosses into the area from corners, so perhaps the short corners felt like wasted opportunities to the fans.
Yet on the third of three, Noni Madueke found Kai Havertz inside the penalty area, and the German international laid it off for Eberechi Eze to fire home for 1-0.
The short-corner routine ended up being the winning goal in a tight contest, just like when Gabriel Magalhaes headed home in the reverse fixture.

But more than just the vital three points, the corner goal was also a record-breaker, as Arsenal’s 17th of the Premier League season.
No team has ever scored more than 16 in one season, with the previous joint-holders of the record being Oldham Athletic (1992/93), West Bromwich Albion (2016/17), and Arsenal themselves (2023/24). So this Arsenal team of 2025/26 have already set a new all-time record, with four games to play.
OptaJoe also reports that Arsenal hold the record for the most goals from corners to go 1-0 up, having achieved the feat 10 times this season. The corner goals haven’t just put gloss on a win, they’ve often inspired the result.

Corners have been one of Arsenal’s big strengths this season, and they may yet rely on a few more goals from set-pieces if they want to win trophies in the final month or so of the campaign.
