Arsenal are among the clubs to show an interest in a free transfer for Celta Vigo defender Oscar Mingueza this summer, according to a report.

Matt Law reports for The Telegraph that Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Fulham are all showing an interest in Celta Vigo’s Oscar Mingueza, whose contract with the Spanish club only lasts until the end of the season.
Mingueza generally plays as a full-back for Celta Vigo, though he has been used in a number of other positions over the years, and he was often used as a centre-back in previous campaigns.
Law adds that Arsenal are weighing up a number of potential defensive targets, amid doubts about Ben White’s future at the club. Tino Livramento of Newcastle United is one, and Mingueza is seemingly another.

Mingueza’s ability to fill in at left-back is also said to be an attractive attribute to both Arsenal and Aston Villa, though Fulham would likely offer the player the best guarantee of regular starts.
Away from the Premier League, Juventus have also been credited with an interest, but Mingueza’s recent decision to sign with English agency Unique Sports Group is inevitably going to lead to strong links with English clubs.
Mingueza is a former Barcelona youth player, progressing from their academy and reserve teams into the senior side – for whom he made 66 appearances. The player then moved on a free to Celta Vigo in 2022.

Now 26, Mingueza should be coming into his peak years as a player, and it remains to be seen where he decides to spend them.
