The Poland international joined Porto on loan from Arsenal last summer, and Record report that the Dragons will activate the clause before the end of May.

According to the same outlet, Kiwior will then sign a contract running to 2030, ending his Arsenal career after a spell in which he never quite became a secure first-choice option in north London.

The deal is expected to be worth €17m, plus €5m in add-ons, after Porto paid €2m to take him on loan until 30 June.

The agreement covers the full rights to the centre-back, while Arsenal are also understood to retain a sell-on clause if Porto sell him in future, something they could do sooner rather than later.

Despite how well his loan has gone, we reported at the start of April that there was the possibility that Porto could resell him immediately for a quick profit.

JAKUB KIWIOR UNTIL 2030 Buy-sell clause stipulated with Arsenal will be triggered as early as next May Record (Portugal) NUNO BARBOSA 30 Apr 2026 Jakub Kiwior is about to become a permanent FC Porto player. According to Record, it will be next May that the Dragons will trigger the buy-sell clause defined in the loan agreement signed with Arsenal in the summer of last year. And, according to information gathered by our newspaper, the Polish international, of 26 years old, will sign a bond with FC Porto valid until 2030. A prominent figure in defense with the lowest average of goals conceded among the main European football championships, Kiwior soon convinced coach, structure and fans of his quality, even for the versatility he offers the team by showing off at a high level in the axis or on the left side of Defense. Used by Francesco Farioli in 37 games, 33 of which as a starter, the Polish international has not yet added his name to the list of goalscorers of FC Porto, but already has two assists. Still, it is in the defensive moment and in the first phase of construction that he has excelled, forming the famous Polish wall with compatriot Jan Bednarek. These are figures that justify the investment made in it. FC Porto, it is recalled, paid € 2 M for the loan until next June 30, in an agreement that includes a buy-sell clause - which could be triggered by both the Dragons and the gunners - of€ 17 m plus 5 M€ in variables and that guarantees the totality of the central pass. Should FC Porto transfer him in the future, Arsenal will also retain a fixed fee of€2m. It is a business made for high values, but that is already having a sporting return. The centre-back is valued at€27m at Transfermarkt.

Kiwior is currently valued at €27m by Transfermarkt, after Arsenal signed him from Spezia Calcio in 2023 for €19.5m.

If Porto complete the deal at the reported fixed fee, they would be buying a player whose market valuation already sits well above their purchase price.

Francesco Farioli has used him in 37 matches, including 33 starts, and Kiwior has been deployed both centrally and on the left side of defence. He has not yet scored for Porto, but has provided two assists.

Alongside Jan Bednarek, he has helped form what Record describes as a Polish wall.

Kiwior’s Arsenal move did not develop into the long-term role he might have hoped for, but his Porto loan has given him exactly what he needed, regular football, a defined place in the side and a club now ready to commit to him until 2030.

Possibly.
