Arsenal are keen to sign Morgan Rogers this summer, but they face serious competition and would have to pay a minimum of £80m for his signing.

Jason Burt writes for The Telegraph that Arsenal are in the race to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa alongside Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Burt claims the fee demanded by Villa is certainly expected to be in excess of £80m, and it might even reach an initial £90m if a bidding war develops. When add-ons are factored in, the player could cost close to £100m.
Middlesbrough will be watching closely, as they’re due 20% of the profit on the £15m they sold Rogers to Villa for in 2024. As an example, a £100m deal would see Middlesbrough netting 20% of £85m, or £17m – which is more than they sold him for in the first place.

Burt clarifies that Villa don’t want to lose Rogers, and he’s not pushing to move, but the club will face financial pressures this summer even if they qualify for the Champions League. An acceptable offer will be considered.
Mikel Arteta is reportedly an admirer, and there are question marks over the futures of Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli in north London. Both Arsenal and Chelsea registered their interest in the player as long ago as last summer.
At the time of writing, Rogers has 10 goals and seven assists for Villa in 45 games this season, though Villa are in action again on Sunday afternoon away to Nottingham Forest.

Rogers has also broken into the England team over the last couple of seasons, featuring in all eight of the side’s 2026 World Cup qualifiers and starting five of them.
The expectation is that he’ll be heavily involved at the final tournament this summer, which could raise his profile even further as the transfer war rages on.
