Former Arsenal academy player Josh Robinson made his debut in senior football over the weekend, after signing for Kidderminster Harriers to end a spell of almost seven months without a club.
Ex-Arsenal academy defender Josh Robinson signed for National League North side Kidderminster Harriers last week, agreeing a deal lasting until the end of the season.
The move ended a near seven-month spell without a club for Robinson, with Wigan Athletic having released him on September 1st.
Robinson hadn’t made any appearances for the Wigan first-team during his nine months at the club after leaving Arsenal, with Kidderminster writing that this was due to injury. But he’s fit again now, and he made his debut for his new club last weekend.
Though not named in the Kidderminster starting lineup for their league game away to Oxford City, Robinson did get to come on as a substitute for his first appearance in senior football in the 72nd minute.
Unfortunately, Kidderminster were already 3-2 down by that stage, and they didn’t manage to make a comeback in the final 18 minutes of the match.
So it wasn’t a winning debut, but it was still a start for the Gunners academy graduate in the men’s game.
Robinson spent around nine years with the Arsenal academy, so his former coaches will be pleased to see him back playing again.
Given his contract with Kidderminster only lasts until the end of the season, he’ll want to make an impression and earn a new deal somewhere this summer.
