2 out, 1 back: Brighton injury news for Arsenal clash

Brighton and Hove Albion will be without two players for Arsenal’s visit on Wednesday night, but Yasin Ayari is in line to make his injury comeback.

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler had some good news for the media on Tuesday, confirming in his pre-Arsenal press conference that Yasin Ayari should be available for the match on Wednesday night.

“He trained yesterday, so hopefully he reacts fine to the first training session, and then we have another one today,” Hurzeler said. “I’m quite confident that he will be an option for tomorrow.”

Ayari has been a regular for Brighton when available, starting 18 of their 28 Premier League matches this season despite missing six through injury. Of the other four games, he came on as a substitute on three occasions and was unused just once.

Brighton will certainly be without Stefanos Tzimas and Adam Webster for the Arsenal game, as both have knee ligament injuries and are unlikely to feature at all for the remainder of the season. But those absences are nothing new for the team.

Brian Owen reports for The Argus that James Milner is set to be rested for the Arsenal game, and that there will be changes to the team compared to the weekend.

But there’s no great pressure on Hurzeler to rotate his best players, as Brighton don’t have any games coming up. The team aren’t in the FA Cup after their elimination by Liverpool, and they have no European football to fill their next midweeks.

After the Arsenal game, Brighton won’t have another match until March 14th, so they can afford to give everything to this midweek’s game.
