Arsenal are the current favourites to sign German striker Nicolo Tresoldi of Club Brugge, with talks reportedly already underway.

Bild’s Christian Falk reports that Arsenal are currently the favourites to sign Nicolo Tresoldi of Club Brugge, adding that the Gunners are “seriously interested” and that talks are already underway.
Falk also told CaughtOffside that Tresoldi “seems to be the future of Germany in the striker position”, so it seems he’s highly rated back in his home country.

21-year-old centre-forward Tresoldi has a contract until 2029 with his current club, having only just joined the club last summer. But that doesn’t necessarily rule out the possibility of another move this year.
Before this season, Tresoldi had been playing for Hannover 96 in Germany, and he never played above the second tier of German football. So this year has been his first season in a country’s top flight.
With that in mind, it’s been a strong start, with Tresoldi scoring 17 goals and assisting a further five in all competitions, including three goals and one assist in his debut Champions League campaign – most notably scoring against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Tresoldi didn’t score in his appearance against Arsenal for Brugge in December, but he did have one decent shot on target in a tough game for his team.

Of course, a move to the Premier League would be another step up, but perhaps Arsenal believe the young striker can handle it. The Gunners are certainly expected to be in the market for a forward or two this summer.
Most recently, Tresoldi has been on international duty with the Germany u21s, scoring a brace against the Northern Ireland u21s on Friday. He has six goals in his last six for the team.
