Both of Arsenal’s goals against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday have been nominated for the Champions League’s Goal of the Day award, with voting now open.

The Champions League have confirmed the nominees for their Goal of the Day award for Tuesday’s last-16 second leg ties, with both of Arsenal’s efforts against Bayer Leverkusen making the cut.
Voting is currently open here, if you want to support the Gunners’ nominees.
Eberechi Eze gave Arsenal the lead with a fantastic goal on the spin, receiving the ball with his left foot before hitting it sweetly with his right on the half-volley from outside the penalty area. The shot arrowed into the top corner at the near post for 1-0.

Declan Rice then doubled the Gunners’ lead with a very satisfying goal of his own. The midfielder jumped up to make an interception, brought the ball down, then curled it into the corner – again from outside the area.
The nature of the finish was very satisfying, with the ball curling in along the surface and brushing the post as it entered the net.
The two goals were nominated alongside two Paris Saint-Germain efforts against Chelsea, one from Bradley Barcola and the other from Mayulu.

Arsenal have been accused of ‘ugly’ football at times this season, but there was no denying the beauty of their goals on Tuesday night. The nominations are certainly deserved, and the Arsenal players have to be the favourites to win the award.
Arsenal have already had one player win the award this season, with Noni Madueke rewarded for his incredible individual goal away to Club Brugge in December.
