Arsenal to sign at least 1 forward this summer

Arsenal plan to sign at least one attacking player in the summer transfer window, but it’s not going to be Paris Saint-Germain’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Fabrizio Romano reports on his YouTube channel that despite links with a move to Arsenal, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is viewed as an “absolutely crucial player” by Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG have no interest in letting Kvaratskhelia leave, particularly so soon after joining, and they consider him “untouchable”.

But Romano adds that Arsenal do want to sign an attacker in the summer window, potentially even more than one, depending on outgoings and the availability of their targets. Romano claims Arsenal “will do something up front, for sure”.

It does seem as though Arsenal are more in need of attacking reinforcements than defensive this summer. The Gunners continue to have the most effective back line in the Premier League, leading the division for the least goals conceded for the third year running.

The gap isn’t quite so clear at the other end, with Arsenal only outscoring Manchester City by one goal having played a game more.

If the Gunners could find an attacker or two to take their goalscoring up a level, that could widen the current gap between their team and the rest of the Premier League.

It’s not clear exactly which players Arsenal will target, nor which positions. But it’s unlikely the club will continue to sign right-wingers, with Bukayo Saka extending his contract and Noni Madueke only joining last summer.

The left-wing is probably the most obvious position for a signing, with Leandro Trossard turning 32 this year and neither he nor Gabriel Martinelli having a major impact in the Premier League in 2026 so far. Both are yet to score in the competition this calendar year.

But with Gabriel Jesus seemingly likely to move on, perhaps another centre-forward addition could be on the cards.
