Bayern star views Arsenal as perfect club for summer transfer

Arsenal are leading the race for the signing of Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka as a free agent this summer, according to a report.

Christian Falk reports that from Leon Goretzka’s point of view, Arsenal are leading the race for his signature this summer.

Falk claims that whilst Arsenal didn’t make a January offer for Goretzka, the Gunners did signal that they were aware of the fact the player was considering a move, and the player’s goal is to join the Premier League.

Falk adds that Goretzka would love to play for Arsenal, believing his playing style suits English football and that the Gunners would be his perfect next club.

That being said, the same reporter adds that there’s no guarantee Arsenal will come back in for Goretzka, and the midfielder isn’t ruling out other options ahead of the summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are also interested, but they obviously aren’t as attractive right now, particularly if they go down to the Championship!

It’s likely there will be others in the mix as well, but it seems that if Arsenal do make a move, they’d have a pretty good chance at completing the signing.

Goretzka’s Bayern contract expires this summer, which is why he’ll be available as a free agent. For the time being, he continues to play for the Bundesliga club, making 33 appearances already this season.

The 31-year-old seems to be in pretty good form at the moment, scoring one goal and assisting another in his last two Bundesliga starts.
