Real Madrid’s Victor Valdepenas remains on Arsenal’s shortlist for a potential summer transfer, according to a report.

Fabrizio Romano reports on his YouTube channel that just like he said in October and January, Victor Valdepenas remains on Arsenal’s shortlist for a potential transfer.
Arsenal are reportedly monitoring the Real Madrid defender and closely following his situation with his current club to understand if a summer transfer could be possible.
But as well as the “very attentive” Arsenal, Romano reports that there’s genuine interest from AC Milan in Serie A. Real Madrid also haven’t yet made a decision on whether they even want to sell, which could depend on the club’s permanent managerial appointment this summer.

James McNicholas reported for The Athletic in January that a number of European clubs had explored a winter move for Valdepenas, adding that Arsenal’s interest in him primarily relates to the summer.
With none of the interested clubs succeeding in luring Valdepenas away in January, Arsenal could now come to the fore. Though McNicholas did stress that Real were keen to hold onto the player.
Sami Mokbel had also reported for the BBC in January that Arsenal hold an interest in Valdepenas, heavily scouting him in recent months with a view to a future move. Mokbel added that the Gunners had held internal discussions about a potential approach.

Valdepenas has a €50m (£43.3m) release clause at Real Madrid, but Arsenal could always try to negotiate below that figure.
The 19-year-old centre-back can also play at left-back, which is generally a good sign when it comes to players Mikel Arteta might target.
Valdepenas has made one appearance for Real Madrid’s first team, debuting in December, but he largely plays for Real Madrid Castilla. Internationally, he plays for the Spain u19s. The youngster has a contract until 2029.
