Whilst Sunday’s Arsenal game against Brighton was given a late postponement due to the poor weather conditions, all the other Champions League contenders won their games.

Manchester City destroyed Leicester 6-0 on Friday, Tottenham Hotspur hammered Villa away 7-3, Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-0 and Manchester United beat London City Lionesses 2-1. Here is a look at the table today:

Spurs are now level on points with Arsenal. Chelsea are four points ahead and Manchester United five points clear of the Gunners. City are 13 points ahead and won’t be caught up by anyone with six games to go.
Arsenal have their first postponed game against Leicester City scheduled for the Wednesday 29 April, sandwiched between Aston Villa away and Everton at home. It is also important to note that Arsenal v Everton is scheduled at the same date as the Champions League semi-final second lag.
Should Arsenal qualify against OH Leuven in the play-off on Wednesday and then eliminate Chelsea in the quarter-final, that Everton league game will be postponed too. Then there will still be a need to find a date for the re-arranged Brighton v Arsenal game. It can only happen after the international break that ends on 7 March.

The options are quite limited and will certainly involve a midweek game, unless Arsenal and Brighton are out of the Women’s FA Cup, as that would free multiple dates.
The only positive in the situation is it gives players a bit of time to rest and recover, while the injured players who were not available on Sunday might be fit when the game is replayed (Mead, Blackstenius, Hind, and Borbe).
Coming next for the Gunners is OH Leuven at Meadow Park with the Arsenal 4-0 up from the first leg and likely to go through, before a home Women’s FA Cup tie again at Meadow Park against WSL 2 side Bristol City.
